Carla Ladeira Pimentel Águas
Bio
Carla Águas is a post-doctoral research fellow at the Department of Science and Technology Policy (DPCT) based at the Institute of Geosciences (IG) in State University of Campinas (Unicamp) in the State of São Paulo, Brazil. The fellowship is funded by the National Postdoctoral Program (PNPD/Capes). Her current research focuses on inter-epistemic dialogue about water, exploring the connections between science and ancestral knowledge of black communities in Vale do Ribeira, São Paulo, Brazil.
She got her PhD in Social Sciences (Postcolonialisms and Global Citizenship Program) from the Social Studies Centre of the University of Coimbra, Portugal. She got Master degree in "Colonial and Postcolonial Studies" from the Independent University (IU / Lisbon, Portugal) and Master degree in Education (research line Education and Environment) from the Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT/Cuiabá, Brazil). Graduated in Social Communication from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF), Brazil.
