Requirements for application for Qualifying exams and Dissertation or Thesis defence
As of April 1, 2017, all requests for exam boards for Qualifications and Defenses must be entered into the New System (SIGA).
The process is the responsibility of the supervisor and the student being supervised, in the first instance, and the coordinators of the PG Programs, in the second instance, involving the SPG/IG.
Watch out for new deadlines and changes to the process!
Guidelines for formatting dissertations and theses
The IG Graduate Office has developed a set of materials as a guide for preparing dissertations and theses with the following information:
- Formatting dissertations and theses according to the standard required by UNICAMP and the IG;
- Procedures required for the final defense and the qualifying exam;
- After the defense, procedures for preparing the final version and homologation of the master's or doctoral degree;
- The forms to be handed in by the day of the final defense and a model of the pre-textual elements such as the cover and title page (see forms at the bottom of the page);
- Follow the checklists of minimum requirements to confirm the documents that must be submitted with the dissertation, thesis or qualifying exam paper.

Turnitin Report
The new flow for issuing the original writing report (Turnitin) is now available on the SBU's Original Writing Verification Report page and the report must be requested by the student.
If the student has any difficulties, problems or questions about generating the report, they should send an e-mail to sbucra [at] unicamp.br.

REDU is Unicamp's official platform for depositing, preserving, sharing, and reproducing research data. Established by Normative Instruction CCPG No. 001/2024, the repository promotes good data management practices, ensuring transparency, traceability, and reuse of scientific output. Furthermore, the use of the platform and the generation of DOIs for research data have become mandatory in the submission and approval process for dissertations and theses at Unicamp.
